Identification

Hosting and design

  • Website hosting: Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, United States
  • Website design and maintenance: Castelain Digital (castelaindigital.be)

Applicable law

This website is governed by Belgian law. In the event of a dispute, the Belgian courts have sole jurisdiction.

2. Data controller

Simo Bennis is the controller of the personal data related to this website. Castelain Digital, which built and maintains the website, acts only to keep the website running.

3. The data we collect

On the website

This website has no forms: it does not ask you for any personal data.

Like any hosting provider, Cloudflare technically processes your IP address to display the website and protect it from attacks.

When you contact us

If you call or write to us (by email or on WhatsApp), we use your details and your message only to answer your request and, if you use our services, to plan and carry out the work.

Legal basis: steps taken at your request before entering into a contract, and the performance of the contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).

Retention period

Your data is kept for as long as needed to handle your request and, if you become a customer, for the period required by law for accounting documents. You can ask for it to be deleted at any time (see section 6).

4. Cookies and local storage

This website sets no cookies at all: no advertising, analytics or technical cookies. It only keeps, in your browser (local storage), your choice of language and theme (light or dark), if you change them.

Legal basis: legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR), as this data is strictly technical. It stays until you clear it from your browser.

5. Third-party services and external links

  • Google Maps: the map and the Street View image are displayed by Google, under Google’s privacy policy.
  • Fonts: loaded from Google Fonts. As with any web resource, this sends your IP address to Google.
  • Booking: the “Book an appointment” buttons open the Calendly booking page, which has its own privacy policy, only if you click them.
  • YouTube: the link to the YouTube channel opens YouTube (Google), only if you click it.
  • WhatsApp: the link opens a WhatsApp chat, only if you click it.
  • Instagram: the link opens the Instagram page, only if you click it.
  • TikTok: the link opens the TikTok page, only if you click it.

Cloudflare and Google are companies based in the United States: some technical data, such as your IP address, may therefore be processed outside the European Union. Your data is never sold or used for advertising.

6. Your rights

Under Articles 15 to 22 of the GDPR, you can at any time:

  • access your data and get a copy of it;
  • have it corrected;
  • have it deleted;
  • restrict its use or object to it;
  • receive it in a common format (portability).

To exercise these rights, write to contact@simo-bennis.com or by post to Simo Bennis, Avenue de l’Yser 16, 1040 Etterbeek, Belgium. We reply within one month at most.

If you believe your data is not being handled correctly, you can lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Authority: dataprotectionauthority.be.
